The Jesus of the Bible was a man concerned with helping and teaching people, sometimes miraculously. But, if the Bible were fiction, why not give Jesus more power? Why does he ride a donkey – couldn’t he just think himself to his next destination? Why use a boat and water for distance from crowds – just levitate above them and call it a day. Finally, with the Jews expecting a conquering Lord, one would not expect the Bible, written by Jews, to portray Jesus as a serving, teaching God who is eventually crucified. A fictitious story would look much different.
