The Bible tells the story of Jesus’s 12 disciples. Immediately after Jesus’s death, Peter (probably the most well-known disciple) denied association with Jesus 3 times. Clearly Jesus’s death threw Peter and the rest of the disciples for a loop. But, Jesus resurrected (came back to life after dying) and appeared to the disciples. If this didn’t happen, why would his disciples go on to die torturous deaths, for a lie? Would you be willing to be crucified for something you knew was a lie? If Jesus did resurrect, the behavior of the disciples makes much more sense. And if Jesus did “defeat” death, what does that say about him?
