The Universe: by bang or by God?

The Big Bang theory proposes that the universe came from nothing, or some energy part of it always existed. Its proponents (myself included) point to observational evidence of the expansion it caused, but admit that the theory doesn’t abide by the laws of physics when it comes to the instance of the bang and what caused it. Does it take more faith to believe that God caused the bang, or that it happened from a vacuum, or that it happened from energy that was somehow always there? The leap of faith here is considerable no matter which way is chosen.

Why leap toward the God option?
