The “Gospels” are the part of the Bible that tell the life story of Jesus. Because the Gospels are 4 long books, contextual evidence allows their date of origin to be determined. Although one of the Gospels may have originated in the 90s AD, the other 3 were likely in existence by 80 AD. Some advocate even earlier dates of origin. Either way, this means that the elders of society would have been alive when the events in the Gospels took place. If the Gospels were mostly fiction, the society would have disregarded them like it had so many other works of fiction.
